Feast
Patron saint festivities and festivals in general, both concepts are merged into one in Benidorm, fun and games.
Since the '60s, the word holiday has been directly related to the word Benidorm. Each year, most of them integrated into the Levantine culture, more than 30 celebrations taking place in its streets, beaches, lands ...
Of these we highlight the Fiesta of Moors and Christians, which takes place in October, the burning of 'juanillos' on the eve of St. John, who is running from 23 to 24 June, and is also the best night short of the year, even as good of Valencia, the largest ever fireworks rather takes place in March, with failures, some failures that always come just when they have finished the carnival.
Furthermore, in Benidorm, we must mention other holidays as the Pilgrimage and Festivities in honor of the Virgen del Suffrage, which take place in mid-November. Note also that in benidorm many houses there are regional (Andalusia, Galicia, Asturias, etc ...) who celebrate their festivals even though they are far from their region by numerous street parades, and celebrations typical of the place. This makes Benidorm in a city with a permanent festive atmosphere that is noticeable as you get to their domains.
Other feats
Outside the hall there are primarily local in Benidorm and Alicante, we highlight other regional or national character.
For example, he first of the year with the parade of the Kings, 5 enema.
Hence we go to the March 19 St. Joseph's Day, big day of the flaws in Valencia, a party that spans all corners of the Autonomous Community of Valencia. We should also mention Easter, celebrated in March or April, and May Day Bridge in Benidorm.
In summer, apart from the Feast of San Juan, summarized above, we must mention the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of fishermen, held on 16 July.
In October the 12th is celebrated on the Day Pillar or Columbus Day, and November, the 1st is the day of all saints.
